The hoof wall, like our hair and nails, is composed of keratin, a complex, sulphur - rich protein that is continually growing. For the body to build keratin, specific nutrients must be provided in the diet. Think Hard provides all the nutrients required for quality hooves but also to stimulate growth.
Think Hard provides 20mg of Biotin per day to a horse, the level trials have found to have a positive effect on hoof growth. This is combined with pure, distilled MSM, a bio-available sulphur donor for keratin production and Zinc, chelated with methionine, which not only maximises the absorption of the zinc, but will enable the zinc to target hoof structure.
Methionine, vitamin B6 and carefully balanced micro-nutrients optimise the body's ability to improve hoof strength, while dried yeast supports the body's capacity to absorb these essential nutrients. With these advanced technical ingredients, we have also incorporated traditional ingredients. Seaweed and rosehips have been fed to horses for hundreds of years to support hoof quality. As natural sources of biotin, vitamin C and B group vitamins, these ingredients make a valuable contribution to Think Hard.
A commitment of many months must be made to improving the hooves as it takes almost a year for the hoof wall to grow from the coronet band to the toe. By providing targeted ingredients, an improvement should start to be seen after 3 months, and by six months the results should be significant.
