Low forage and low fibre diets are typically fed to horses in training, but this type of feeding regime is not what the horse has evolved to digest. If care is not taken, this type of diet could lead to blockages, acidosis or even colic.

Irish Karon Oil is designed to help aid the natural flow of food through the digestive system. Containing over 50% pure linseed oil it helps to lubricate the gut and compensate for the lack of fibre in the diet. Linseed oil is also an excellent source of energy and  Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids and is therefore of great nutritional importance. Omega 3 is also recognized for its ability to create a healthy, glossy coat and for support of the body’s natural anti-inflammatory mechanisms.

The inclusion of Calcium Hydroxide solution, which has strong alkaline properties, ensures that Irish Karon Oil will also help to maintain the natural pH of the caecum.
