With the weather looking like it may be a repeat of last year; I am looking to possibly treat my grain at harvesting to help preserve it. I have heard you now do a product for this, can you tell me more?

The product you are referring to is our newly launched Grainsave. By using Grainsave you can save on drying costs, as this additive prevents heating during storage, thus inhibiting the growth of moulds & mycotoxins which are harmful to animal health & production. For more information about this product, please contact your local representative.

I want to ensure my ewes get all they need at tupping on a free access basis, what do you suggest?

We would recommend placing one Tub Tup out to 25 ewes about 2-3 weeks prior to the ram going in and throughout the tupping period. As with all our other Tubbys, Tub Tup is not based on molasses, this ensures that the ewes will consume a Tubby through need and not greed. Tub Tup contains all the trace elements, vitamins and minerals required to provide a boost at this time.

I have a bunch of lambs to finish from grass alone that appear to have checked, and just don’t seem to be “doing”. What can I give them to pick them back up?

You could give them a dose of the Ex-Sel Advance Weaning drench at the higher level for a quick response, or you could use Tub LF (Lamb Finisher). Tub LF has been specifically formulated for all finishing lambs, with ingredients included to maximise muscle growth & promote better feed conversion. High cobalt, vitamin B12, Live Yeast & Special copper all work to boost finishing, particularly on late or poor grass.

We suffer from a tick problem with our sheep. Do you have anything to help?

We have a free access tub called Bug-A-Tub which is formulated to reduce the irritation and nuisance of ticks and lice in sheep. It works in a similar way to our best selling Tub Fly for cattle but focuses on bugs that find a home in the fleece and feed on the hosts’ blood. The inclusion of Para-GuardTM will alter blood palatability which means that ticks drop off in search for another host animal.
